I am a writer and creative practice researcher based in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University where I am a member of the non/fictionLab research group and co-convene the Gutter Stars comics collective.
My work is interested in the politics of value, interpretation, and meaning-making. My writing practice is influenced by critical theory, psychoanalysis, art, and a long history of participating in grassroots artist-led collaborative projects. I bring to my writing and thinking an attentiveness to the experience of living with chronic pain as well as an interest in the poetics of the body.
I was a Chief Investigator on the Australian Research Council funded project ‘Connecting Asia-Pacific Literary Cultures: Grounds, Encounter and Exchange’ (2021-2025) and am the incoming nonfiction editor of Southerly. My writing has appeared in numerous literary and scholarly publications, including Cordite Poetry Review, Meanjin, AXON, and TEXT Journal of Writing and Writing Courses.
I acknowledge the people of the Woi wurrung and Boon wurrung language groups of the eastern Kulin Nation on whose unceded lands I am fortunate to live, work and parent. I pay my respects to the Ancestors and Elders of these lands and waterways, as well as to the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways across Australia. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
